THE INTERVIEWS

Question 1

When did you join PRSU?

early january

I joined the tumblr around January 4, discord on January 6

Mid march!

February 4th, 2026

Two weeks ago!!

Somewhere around the 8th of January

I joined the project in the very beginning, a few days after the finale was released.

i joined near the end of february this year! i believe it was february 20-something.

Question 2

How did you first hear about it?

tumblr

I was grieving the finale and scrolling on a tumblr byler community, then saw a comment talking about the project trying to get more members.

Through Poopies comic on tumblr.

My lovely friend of 8 years, Jiji (aka THE Max Mayfield) said that they really needed voice actors and artists! :)

Tumblr

My friend EnragedHoneyBadger told me about it

I first found out about PRSU while scrolling on Tumblr. When I stumbled upon PRSU's Tumblr community, I immediately knew that it was something I wanted to be a part of.

i first heard of it from a tumblr post announcing it. i joined the community and got the discord link from there.

Question 3

What sort of things do you do for/with your department?

I voice robin, and jenny

I voice Will Byers and hopefully a few extras when I audition for them

I draw whenever someone needs an extra artist usually, I've done the turn around for Derek and I'm working on the sketch for the teaser animation.

Personally, I've made Robin's character model sheet, pose reference sheet, and a turnaround gif that for some reason lags my phone to the point that I have to power it off for like 10 minutes. In general, though, the artists make character model sheets, pose reference sheets, and expression sheets for the characters they're assigned to. They can also claim scenes from episode 5 (which is currently in production!) and make storyboards, which gets turned into line art and eventually colored! I'm not a very good storyboarder, though, so I haven't claimed a scene yet.

I specifically work on promo art.

Lowkey I don't do much but I designed Will's character, made his body reference sheet and am designing his Cleric outfit. I think I'm also supposed to draw the party's faces for reference.

In the writing team we plan out the plot, the character arcs and pretty much everything that has something to do with the story itself. We have weekly workshops where we go through the ideas, plan the scenes and ponder what is the best way to set the kitchen in fire. After lots of planning and hours of workshopping, we start writing the scenes. No one is left alone with the writing process, and it's possible to get advice from both the other writers and the moderators. Finally the scenes are being morphed into a full episode script!

well obviously, as a voice actor i am the voice for characters lol. i voice tina turnbow and dottie (from kali’s crew). they’re both pretty minor characters, but it’s still an awesome opportunity for me and im extremely grateful :3

Question 4

If you attend workshops for your department, what are those like?

the table reads for VA are very relaxed and fun, and I love reading the script with all my fellow cast members

Table reads are super fun and interesting, hearing everyone at once come together to voice the lines really brings the script to life.

I don't typically join them since it's not in my timezone but for the few times I have, everyone seems very dedicated.

Unfortunately, somehow the workshops land on my busiest days. Since I am a trombonist in real life, I always have parades, competitions, rehearsals, musicals, ect that I have to go to 🫩

Sadly, I have not been able to do workshops because I have a very tight schedule rn 😭

Chill but I only attended like 3 or something since I'm occupied during those times.

I really enjoy the workshops and try to attend them every time I can. In the past four months, they have improved from chaotic chatting to well structured meetings where everyone gets to share their opinion, even those who are not part of the writing team. The workshops often last from two to four hours.

Question 5

What is your favorite thing about PRSU?

all the friends I've made

Its availability to everyone. You don't have to be a super good artist or voice actor with 5 years of acting, a writer with 3 things published, or musician with composed songs. If you have the passion to work on this project, you're part of our team. Also not to sound cheesy, but the people. I've met so many people on here and made so many friends that i was never expecting when i first joined this project.

The community, everyone is always supportive and dedicated to the project.

My favorite thing about PRSU is how friendly the staff is! I'm not afraid to ask any questions whatsoever because they create such a warm and welcoming community. There's pretty much no drama in the server whatsoever, and it's honestly a relief from other servers where there's constantly someone being banned for the silliest reasons.

Everyone is incredibly nice and creative! I’ve only had positive experiences when working on PRSU. I get very helpful constructive criticism on my artwork!

The fact that we're actually getting this done.

One could say, "Maybe PRSU was the friends we made along the way", and I wouldn't disagree a bit. I've made a lot of friends while working on this project and had many meaningful conversations. We've been through a lot together, and even though there has been some conflicts and misunderstandings, I wouldn't change a thing.

i love the community!! everyone here is so encouraging and kind. this is my first va gig, and everyone has been very accepting and supportive to all levels of skill. there is tons of communication and conversation happening on the inside, and it feels more like a giant group chat than a project sometimes

Question 6

What do you think makes PRSU different from other rewrites?

the fact that it's such a large scale project with so many people involved

That we haven't fallen apart. We've stayed together. I think the stranger things fandom is really special, and the fans are dedicated enough and have a sense of justice

You actually have progress, I don't think anyone has made it for this long.

With PRSU, I can actually see that we're making progress. Most rewrites that I've been in or have seen, they've always stopped after one episode or never even produced an episode. PRSU, though, has the most productive staff I have ever seen!

Everyone is very dedicated! Usually I see rewrites lose traction, however this project is still going strong!!

THE FACT THAT WE'RE SO MOTIVATED TO ACTUALLY DO THIS. Like, I am so happy that this is still going on and that we're organised to actually complete this. It's really just amazing.

Definitely the scale of this project. We have an ambitious goal to produce four animated hour-long episodes, which requires the people working on this project to stay on board and have a passion for what they're doing. There are people are from all over the world, from various backgrounds and with different opinions, but we all share at least one common thing: we want justice for those millions who were left disappointed and let down because of the finale.

i’ve joined a few different rewrite servers since the finale, but they don’t usually get very far. not only does PRSU bounce ideas around, but these ideas get fleshed out and acted upon. one episode has already been rewritten, and we’re currently working on table reads. we’ve got a full group of script writers, music composers, artists and voice actors working on this project.

Question 7

What is your favorite thing about your team?

getting to work on my acting, and doing it with so many amazing people

That our love for the characters is enough to bring them to life. There are so many talented people on the VA team who don't have the classic "demo reel" or experience that most voice acting projects require, but we dont need that.

I love art, I love concepts and animation but most importantly I love being able to experience working as a team!! This community is very helpful and kind with critism and honestly helped with my self worth.

My favorite thing about the artists department is how everyone is willing to help! You don't have to be shy when asking for assistance, whether it be hands (my worst enemy), or just getting the art style down! There's always someone you can turn to who is willing to take the time and help.

The feedback I get for my artwork is very helpful!

Poopie's art. Just kidding (not really). I really like how motivated everyone is. People seem like they are genuinely enjoying themselves.

There are so many amazing people in the writing team who have great ideas and are ready to make them come true. We communicate with each other and are not afraid to point out inconsistencies or plot holes. I really appreciate how much you all have done for this project, together we'll make it happen!

i love how encouraging everyone is!! everyone in the server is so kind, but the va group especially has been so good to me. even during auditions, compliments were being given to everybody who gave it a try. like i said before, this is my first va project, but i don’t feel like i am any less than all of the incredibly talented people around me.

Question 8

What is one thing you've learned during your time with PRSU?

I've learned to appreciate teamwork a lot more than I did before

You can accomplish anything you put your mind to. We've come so far in so little.

I learnt that support, passion and consistency is integral to a project as ambitious as PRSU.

One thing I've learned during my time with PRSU (why am I answering this like an English assignment) is punctuality. Although the staff is pretty understanding of time conflicts, they're always very punctual and make sure that you're making your deadlines. I struggle with ADHD (diagnosed and medicated 😔) and procrastination a lot, but no matter what I always have someone pushing me to meet my deadlines and get stuff done as fast as I can!

This might sound cliche but I think the phrase, “teamwork makes the dream work” summarizes what I’ve learned so far.

That I suck at anatomy but I'm good at mimicking the PRSU art style.

Maybe the most important thing I've learnt is getting along with all kinds of people. It is not always easy or perfect, but that is okay because we're not machines. The best we can do is to get along with each other and remember that we're working towards the same goal.

Question 9

What are you most looking forward to?

the trailer release

Trailer production! It'll be the closest to the real deal, and im excited to see artists and voice actors working together.

I'm most excited to see it all come together and watching everyone in PRSU hard work payoff.

I'm actually looking forward to creating line art or coloring in the scenes! Since I'm not a storyboard person (The only thing I struggle in is storyboarding for some reason), I want to help out in every way I can. I also like making line art for things and coloring things in in general (I'm a very simple person 🫪), and they're always my favorite things in the drawing process!

I’m currently working on a promo poster that is probably the best piece of art I have ever drawn!! I don’t know if it’ll be used, but I definitely want to contribute something. I’m also excited to see what the animators have done so far! Even though I can’t animate well, I love animation!!

My impatient ass is excited to see the final product

I'm very excited to start writing episode 6! It is going to be an emotional ride for all of us.

i’m super excited to see how the final episodes turn out! watching the work happen from the inside is already amazing, and i’m so excited to see our work pay off and watch it become a full episode.

Question 10

How do you feel about the community in PRSU?

I love it, I've made so many amazing friends, and felt so welcomed when I first joined

Its amazing!! Everyone in the prsu communtiy is super dedicated and awesome to talk to. We all can relate to something and have a vision. Everyone is welcome and we have fun events to bring everyone together.

I feel so much for this community, I've made friends that are so funny, accepting, kind and talented. Everyone is very professional but always up for a good time.

The community in PRSU is very friendly, welcoming, and open to new ideas and opinions! This is pretty much the safest-feeling server on Discord!

I love how each department works together cohesively!

Very cool people :)

The community is very welcoming and safe. You're allowed to share your opinions and be yourself. I've made so many amazing friends who are always there for me, thanks to this project.

Question 11

What motivates you to keep up with the project?

spite for the duffers /j. But seriously, the community, and my love for the stranger things fandom

To not let those who really believed in stranger things down. Knowing that once they find this project they wont feel discarded as they did watching the finale and be invested.

Just seeing everyone working together is enough for me to be motivated, can you tell this community fuels me?

Wow, I've already answered these past two questions lol. My motivation comes from the drive of others. As long as someone else is pushing me and others are turning things in, I have motivation to continue with them!

I was really upset with the ending of stranger things, I want to see it become something better and I would like to help with that goal!

Well I'm really disappointed with the finale and I want to see a show for once having a well written ending. Also it's fun to draw and I somehow get tasks to draw certain things that are lowkey kinda vital to the PRSU art department. I'm in too deep to quit now.

Because of all the wonderful people working on this project I've been keeping up with it. You mean a world to me! Also the frustration from how Stranger Things ended gives me power to go on. Every time I remember how disappointed I was after the end credits rolled, I get reminded of why this project matters.
